PLAYLIST - May 5th 2021 marks the 10th birthday of the world's most iconic scent. Here's a playlist riffing on aromas and the number 5, with tracks from Prince, Bowie, Rag n' Bone man, Django Rheinhardt, Dave Brubeck and Debussy - among others

PLAYLIST - At midnight GMT, May 1st 2000, US military obeyed President Clinton's order to stop scrambling Satellite GPS signals. At a stroke receivers became 10 times more accurate, changing the way we live...

YOUTUBE MUSIC CLIP - The new 'director's cut' of Prince playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps is stunning enough, but I love this image of Dhani Harrison looking just like his dad and so obviously relishing how the Purple One is polishing the family jewels.

MOVIE: The Sound of Metal. This first effort from director, Darius Marder, feels like an accomplished European art house movie. It takes its time but packs in so much between the lines. Mesmerising, haunting...

But of course, then it would almost certainly cost significantly more...
